Intercultural and Transformative Perspectives in Language Education
A short description of the course:
This course explores intercultural and transformative dimensions of language education. It begins with an introduction to Turkish culture and the Turkish education system, providing contextual understanding for international participants. The course then examines common distortions and misconceptions about language learners and learning processes.
Through a short literary text, participants develop intercultural awareness and reflect on cultural perspectives in communication.
Finally, the course introduces principles of transformative language learning and teaching, encouraging critical reflection and inclusive pedagogical practices in diverse classrooms.
