Personal image protection in the media. Poland as an example of a European Union country & The principles of the exposure triangle
A short description of the course:
Ad 1. The main goal of the course is to make students aware of the importance of personal image when publishing visual content in both traditional and online media. And what the consequences of violating the law in this area may be.
Ad 2. By learning the main parameters of the world of photography, students can gain a package of tools/knowledge to achieve various effects when creating visual content.

Maciej Chmiel completed studies in the field of journalism and social communication at Warsaw University as well as information technology at Łódź University. In the years 2005-2007, he was responsible for the PAP Everyday Photographic Service and thus directed the work of photo-editors and photo-reporters of the Polish Press Agency. PAP representative in the editorial committee of the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) gathering, among others, editors in chief and heads of the picture desks of EPA member agencies. Since 2011, he has combined those duties with the function of the Vice Editor-in-Chief of PAP-Photo. Previously connected, among others, with Polish Television. He also organized the photographic agency of the Wirtualna Polska portal. At present, editor-in-chief of the Domestic Editorial Office East News – the largest private photographic agency in Poland. Author of photos published in both Polish and foreign media – from the New York Times through Taipei Time, Spanish Oje, German FAZ and Die Welt, Hungarian Nepszabadsag to Polish publishers: Newsweek, Wprost, Rzeczpospolita, Gazeta Wyborcza, Tygodnik Powszechny, Polska The Times, Metro, TVP, TVN, RMF FM, Interia, Onet, WP.pl, etc. He is an expert in the field of DAM (Digital Asset Management) – using his knowledge and experience from the fields of journalism, photography, information technology and new technologies. In 2014, he was awarded by the President of the Polish Republic the Cross of Merit ‘for merits for the development of journalism’.
